That is what was order for Jammie Thomas-Rasset to pay. She could have settled out of court like most have done but nope. She was the only one to take the case to trial.

Her first trial she was fined $222,000 per song but that trial was declared a mistrial. The second case the fees jumped up to $80,000 per song. Now mind you that is 80k times the 24 songs she downloaded so her total fee was 1.92 million dollar.

Here are the songs that cost her 80,000 EACH (downloaded from Kazaa):

  • Guns N Roses "Welcome to the Jungle"; "November Rain"
  • Vanessa Williams "Save the Best for Last"
  • Janet Jackson "Let's What Awhile"
  • Gloria Estefan "Here We Are"; "Coming Out of the Heart"; "Rhythm is Gonna Get You"
  • Goo Goo Dolls "Iris"
  • Journey "Faithfully"; "Don't Stop Believing"
  • Sara McLachlan "Possession"; "Building a Mystery"
  • Aerosmith "Cryin'"
  • Linkin Park "One Step Closer"
  • Def Leppard "Pour Some Sugar on Me"
  • Reba McEntire "One Honest Heart"
  • Bryan Adams "Somebody"
  • No Doubt "Bathwater"; "Hella Good"; "Different People"
  • Sheryl Crow "Run Baby Run"
  • Richard Marx "Now and Forever"
  • Destiny's Child "Bills, Bills, Bills"
  • Green Day "Basket Case"

Now I love music and I do like most of the songs she downloaded but not $80,000 worth. I'm guessing the next court room she will see will be the bankruptcy one. She is a single mom of 4 kids so I hardly think she has a spare 1.92 million dollars to spare. Maybe she should go by a lotto ticket, with her luck you never know.
