Back to School

So its that time of year to take the kiddo's shopping for school. Time to buy clothes and to stock up on supplies. This is my goal this weekend to get it all done. I did do some of it while we were in the Keys but I have so much more to do. I'm not sure when everyone's kids have to go back but mine go back on August 17th so that gives me less then a month. To top it off my oldest is having surgery this coming Tuesday so that means he is top priority this weekend to get his stuff out of the way.

What happen to kids being easy to shop for? Maybe they never were but the I need to have this and I need to have that is killing me. My little guy he is totally into the emo (as I say but he hates when I say that) skinny jeans. The one brand he loves I can only find at one store and $49.99 a pair - OK I don't think so. Lets face it he's growing. I did find them online for $30.00 so I ordered 5 pairs. My kids are so different taste wise in clothes and what is cool today is not cool tomorrow. I mean I remember going into Abercrombie and plunking down a few hundred dollars only to find that the following month it was not cool.

My oldest and my middle kid are pretty much easy to shop for but OMG my little one is going to kill me. This would be my veggie - tree hugging - PETA / Green Peace kid. We now have to look at what the product is made from and certain stores are off limits for him because well I dunno I'm sure at some point they killed a fly and pissed off PETA and well that is good enough for him to boycott that store. Our latest fight is shoes. I'm the mom saying I'll buy you the $100. sneakers but he is the kid saying no I want the $25. canvas ones that are destroying his feet however no animals were harmed. OK I draw the line when it becomes a health issue. He looks like he is on the verge of 2 ingrown toenails (both big toes) and in the same spot - you can tell its the shoes.

So please tell me I'm not the only parent with kids driving them clothes crazy. I thought boys were suppose to be easier.
