Well with home movies and video clips becoming ever so popular YouTube is going to let you start cashing in on your 15 mins of fame. Simply stating if you have a video that is getting lots and lots of hits (the number was not given) then you could start making money.

YouTube to allow creators to cash in on their 15 minutes of viral fame

YouTube has extended its Partnership Program, which allows already allows certain "prolific" creators the opportunity to share in advertising revenue, to the maker of any successful "one-off" video.

Shenaz Zack, YouTube's product manager, said: "Now, when you upload a video to YouTube that accumulates lots of views, we may invite you to monetise that video and start earning revenue from it."

Users whose videos YouTube deems eligible will receive an email asking if they want their video to be monetised. If they agree, YouTube will show ads alongside those videos and the creator will receive a share of the revenue every month. YouTube has declined to state how many viewers a video must attract before it qualifies.

Now would I go quitting my day job just to become a YouTube videographer? Nah but some have and they have done well. Lauren Luke has quit her day job and made it big on youtube by posting makeup tips - she even went as far as to create her own line of makeup. Her videos are some of the most hit videos on Youtube. If your curious here is one of her videos

OK I'll admit that before today I had no clue who she was but I do like how she was a average person - not a super hot model but a nice looking girl who made it big - good for her.

So any want to be videographers out there now is your chance to make it big and cash in on it - happy filming Smile
