After this past Halloween weekend and only having been released for 5 days thus far (Oct 28th it opened), the movie This is It has made over 100 million dollars -including international ticket sales-making it the largest grossing concert movies ever. It was initially supposed to only be a 2-week showing of the film in theaters, but now will be playing through Thanksgiving. This is It pulls from over 100 hours of behind-the-scene footage from April-June of Jackson's rehearsals and fans are sure to love it in lieu of his "come-back" concerts obviously not taking place due to his death. His scheduled fifty concerts that made up the This is It tour were sold out and scheduled to take place from July '09 through March '10.

So far the consensus seems to be that if you are not a fan, then you will not fully enjoy this movie/documentary. The average of the ratings that i have seen would be 3 out of 5 stars. The reviews vary wildly depending on the person reviewing it and their affinity or, conversely, their unabashed dislike for Jackson.

Will you be heading to the movie theater to see this one?
