When Oprah Started out in Television as the host of "AM Chicago" I don't think anyone realized the power house she was to become. She first started AM Chicago January 2, 1984 and on September 8, 1986 she went into syndication trumping over then top talk show host Phil Donahue. Twenty five years later she will be calling it quits on Sept. 9th, 2011.

Durring those years she has rose to become a power house. Not only has her empire grown with helping to produce other shows but a magazine. Her magazine has also become very successful.

She has also grown to be a very wealthy woman but not without remembering her roots. Oprah has been one to give back. One of her greatest gifts of giving back is The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. A school she started in Africa to help educate girls who so desperately needed it.

I remember when Oprah first started out live on national TV. When she started I was in College living away from home and watching alot of TV at the time (when not in school). I remember when I first watched it, I though she was funny but I remembered thinking oh yeah a fat black woman as a host of talk show, no way. At that time I was a huge Phil Donahue fan (I even saw Phil Donahue live). Over the years we have seen Oprah change our country and I think for the better. With her book clubs she got a reading more and with her giving she inspired us to help out others in a pay it forward type of way. I hate to say I will really miss Oprah although my husband I think will be glad to see her go - Laughing.

So what are your thoughts? Will you miss her or do you think 25 years is long enough and time to say good-bye?
