Nah, even if you left your keys in the car that someone stole and then ran someone over, you probably wouldn't be liable (at least you shouldn't be), which is akin to people leaving their wifi unprotected. They might just not know anyone is using it. Soon enough there' ll probably be some lame law requiring you to make sure your network is protected with certain standards and regulations, or you'll get a hefty fine. Wouldn't surprise me a bit.
