Re: AVATAR - 3D vs Non-3D

I would not go see it in 2D. I didn't find the 3D a distraction at all, and I really didn't see much stuff flying out... I saw the 3D as a way to bring the environment to you, and make it seem more real.

The movie was made from the ground up intended to be shown in 3D. The guy had Sony build him his own 3D camera even. He waited years to make the movie so the technology would catch up, and so more places would get the 3D projectors. I just can't see the 2D being better.

Maybe the 3D is a distraction for some, but I thought the 3D was just at the perfect place where it could bring the world to a real sense. dang near perfect in my opinion. Now, I wouldn't go see something like Alice in Wonderland in 3D, especially if the previews show what the movie will be like... The popping out effect in 3D has always been lame to me. I want 3D to be used in the environment... Not have the Cat's smile coming out at me.
