I signed up and downloaded Skitch and have been trying it out. From what I have seen so far I love it.

I would say its very much like Photobucket but with a very cool stand alone image editor, screen capture etc. program and a few other gems that makes it attractive to use. When you sign up you are also given a Skitch email address called My MailDrop.

With My MailDrop you can upload your images to Skitch.com using an iPhone, Blackberry, Gmail, Hotmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, Entourage... almost anything that can email images will work.

Skitch is part screen capture tool, part easy doodling app, Skitch is also a dead simple way to quickly share screencaps, images and illustrations with others.

Included in the cost of this free app is server space for file storage, so in one click you can send an image to the web. There are privacy controls for your images as well, so you can make specific things public, or keep them private from anyone who doesn’t know the URL. You can even get an embed code or forum URL if desired.

Skitch also keeps a history trail of the images you send to the web for later retrieval and you can set it up to upload your pics to your own FTP server instead of the Skitch servers.

I found an image on the internet, took a screen shot, cropped the image and then clicked on the Web Post Option and it was uploaded to the Skitch servers in seconds.

You then log into your account, your image is there waiting for you to choose how you want it shared and the links that you can use to share your screenshot.

Your sharing choices are:

Public : Viewable By Anyone

A Secret Url : For People That Know and Are Given The Url By You

Private : Only For You - Or - For People Who Know the Url and Password

Check out the links below to see the imagine that I uploaded and a couple of different ways to share your screenshot:

Link One : Complete Page

Link Two : Image Only

The complete page Link allows other people to take your image and post it to their pages or forums or wherever they like so when uploading screenshots be careful with who and how you want your images shared.
