This happened in CA. From what I have read on a few articles the family has NOT seen the pictures nor do they want to - I can't blame them. As a parent I would NEVER want to see anything like this of my child. Even if I though it could help another person I could never look at them.
Now on the flip side - I have a 17 yr old who is driving. I bought him a car a few months ago and I purchased one I felt he would be safe in (not to small and full airbags - Mazda CX-7). My son is far from a speed demon (can't say that about my other ones). He didn't get his license for a year after he first could. I had a neice that was killed by a DUI (the other driver was drunk) where she was mangled. It really shook him up and for a while he didn't want to drive.
