The only way that I know that folks have placed Windows on a MAC is by bootstrapping it via Bootcamp. Bootcamp allows you to run both MAC OS and Windows. Mind you windows is going to run slower. I would think only running windows alone you're going to have driver issues.
Does he only want to run Windows on it? If so that is stupid and a huge waste of money since he probably overpaid for a MAC computer to do what a cheaper computer could have done better, sorry ppl like that just need to be knocked on the head and preferable with thier overpriced MAC then Koolaid poured on them.
For the record I don't own a MAC, never have so I have never used bootcamp. Maybe someone who has used it can jump in with more info. I just gave you the info that I know.
