How many of us haven't put our iPod, Zune, what have you, in our pants pockets at one point or another? Welp, may want to rethink that! That's exactly what a teenager in Ohio did and he ended up with 2nd degree burns after his iPod Touch exploded in his pants. *giggles* Okay, okay it's really not funny in all honesty. It's not. But some of the headlines made me laugh a little. Anywho, the boy ran to the bathroom after he heard a "pop" and felt a burning sensation on his leg, where a he and a friend removed the pants which had caught fire. His mother is now attempting to sue Apple for over $220,000 because her son suffered the 2nd degree burns and faces other "physical and mental conditions that will cause him to suffer pain, mental distress, emotional distress and otherwise for the rest of his life."

So maybe the iPod did explode on it's own. Maybe the battery was faulty. Or maybe, just maybe, the recession is making people desperate? Who knows. I just hope the kid will be all right. And that the burns didn't, uhm, damage anything for his sake.
