Google to roll out free tool to help save energy

Google Inc is soon to roll out free software which allows consumers to track their home electricity use and improve energy efficiency in a bid to help mitigate global warming.

As part of its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Google said in February it would use its software skills for the program that will show home energy consumption in real time on a user's computer or a telephone.

So how many would use this is if google came out with it or when they come out with it. I guess sometimes I think its like watching the price of gas going up - it sucks but bottom line you still have to drive to work. In my house my pc generally runs 24/7 so Laughing watch it come back and saying "hey your pc is a energy sucking pig shut it down"...there goes google. Nah I could get google on my phone also. I dunno most of the big items have been replaced in my house with in the past few years (like kitchen appliances, a/c unit, hot water heater) so for the most part I think I have everything pretty much energy efficient but yet I admit my electric bill runs around $500. a month.
