You almost have to feel bad for the folks at Pirate Bay because they really have had a hard time the past two years. Between the owners being prosecuted and now being hacked. OK the hackers are 3 Argentinian guys that not only hacked the site but posted a video of it (which is now private). They hacked Pirate Bay via SQL injections and they managed to get into the administration area and snag ALL 4 million users email addresses and IP addresses. Yeah in the wrong hands like the RIAA and MPAA, copyright organizations it could be really bad. I'm sure they are trying to get the information too.

They did post a screen shot of the hack

Pirate Bay did go down for "maintenance" but they are now back up and running. I'm not sure if they did or didn't fix the issue and its not likely they will be saying if they didn't fix it.

Now the hackers did say they don't plan to do anything with the information but they wanted users to know that Pirate Bay needs to beef up its security. Well I think they got the message.
