I think of it this way. He's had to compromise on quite a lot. In the geek/tech world, he's pretty hated though. He has done nothing on patent and copyright reform, instead choosing to have Biden on the sides of big business against the little guys (look into Operation In Our Sites for details), Victoria Espinela hasn't done anything in regards to being the copyright czar EXCEPT blame China for everything (which isn't true), he hasn't brought attention to sugar taxes nor the subsidy on corn (hint: fructose is what cancer feeds off of, corn is made of fructose), and overall most of the things that Bush/Clinton/Bush Sr/-----Reagan have put into place.
Let's not forget the fact that he's also prosecuted more whistleblowers in his time than really protected them. Overall, it's more the same old stuff, different day.
