Spring has sprung and it is officially kite season. I love to take my kids to the park or beach and watch them fly kites and learn how to maneuver them, cast them, and the art of gliding them to not destroy them should they lose flight.

We started our spring tradition at a local dollar store who had some inexpensive plastic kites for $1. It soon become a favorite past time for our family.

We then graduated to 2-line stunt kites of a bit higher price tag. These are just simply beautiful with their character and animation while in flight. soo much fun to master and fly

Our attempt this year will be to make our own along with the salvaged kites from last season. I'll have to post some pictures of our completed kites along with our investigation into which structures work best Smile

Anyone else love to spend time kite flying? Any simple strcture kite plans fro my younger kids and more complex box structures fro my older ones?
