Mouse Keeps Losing Connection

3 replies [Last post]

I've had it with my mouse. I have one of those ergonmic ones that I love, (pic below) but every once in a while it loses connection and I keep having to unplug it and replug it make it work again. Sometimes it only lasts a couple of minutes and I have to do it again, sometimes I can go for weeks with it being ok. Anyone have any idea what the problem is here? It's starting to drive me NUTS!!! Frustrated

Are you only using it as a mouse yeah sorry had to go there (too tempting). Does it have any batteries in it? Did you try another USB if its plugged in? Does all of the buttons stop working or it just goes poof and or freezes?

Rolling Eyes God help me if I'd have to resort to that Laughing no theres no batteries in it. What happens is I lose control over the onscreen arrow, its like as if i had disconnected it. I have 2 USB's and I alternate between them but it doesn't make a difference.

Is it only for that mouse? i.e. have you plugged another test mouse in to see if that works fine? If so, I'd look for a loose connection, or go to the manufacturers website to see if they have any updated drivers, or custom mouse software that it needs/uses. If not, it may help to reinstall the mouse drivers for it anyway, assuming it's not just relying on the default Windows drivers.
