Today I downloaded an update for uTorrent only to discover they want to charge fees. I found this unacceptable and went to their forum to voice my complaint. After the moderator simply banned me rather than replying I have decided to boycott them. You can read my conversation at findingbetter.info/2012/02/utorrent-charges. I find it disguisting
that they would care more about money than keeping a clean software. What is your take on the issue?

I just updated uTorrent to the latest stable build 3.1.2. At no point during the upgrade was I asked for a fee. In fact nothing popped up at all. uTorrent opened up after the update and nothing else. So I then went to their page and downloaded the same stable build with no request for money. There is a uTorrent Plus that offers extra features that you can buy for $24.95 per year but no one is making you buy it. In fact I had to look for it. The default download option I was given was the free version. Sounds like a lot of fuss over nothing. Of course no one is making you use uTorrent. There are lots of other clients available. Deluge is really good.
