Today I purchased a new netbook and it came with Windows 7 Starter. Most netbooks you see out there come either with Windows XP home or Windows 7 Starter. They do that because they are easier to run with smaller hardware (memory, CPU, graphics). Well all I can say is Windows 7 starter does really suck. I love Windows 7 but this is way to stripped down.

Windows 7 starter really cuts back hard on what you can and can't personalize. Needless to say I do understand why because of the limitations. However since I'm basically taking a small netbook amping up the memory (RAM) and the hard drives I will be upgrading to full Windows 7 home. Now granted I will remove some items that would slow down the load of the page - such as sidebar.

So I just wanted to say if your thinking about buying a netbook or a tablet you might want to think about changing over the operating system or upgrading it.

Anyone else on Windows 7 starter?

Re: Windows 7 Starter review

i actually tried using it for a while, (keep up with the software ish for my business) and its a pain, if you dont have this on a brand new computer, then its horrible to even try, i couldnt do much of anything, it always lagged, ish this is why i like xp,

See I use Windows 7 home and love it. I currently have two keys not in use: Windows 7 home 32bit and Windows XP pro 32bit so if one gives me issues I'll jump over to the other. I got THIS and I'm going to upgrade it to 2gb of ram and 320gb hard drive (I already have those).
