When I "Flatten" layers or items in an image does it make the final file size smaller?

I'm sort of a beginner to photo editing and was wondering when I use the option to flatten layers or items in Photoshop or Snag-It will the final image size be smaller when I save it, or does it not make any difference at all? I'm trying to reduce my images as much as possible without losing any noticeable image quality.

How to remove programs from "Open With" list in Windows?

I have a frustrating problem, I have multiple versions of Photoshop installed on my computer (Windows 7) and I already had Photoshop CS5 added to my "Open With" menu and now that I have CS6 installed I can't add THAT one to my "Open With" menu instead! I've tried using the browse button and selecting the CS6 version but it keeps adding it as the CS5 version. Is there some way to edit the Open With menu so I can replace the CS5 version with the CS6 version? I need to keep CS5 on my computer for the time being or else I'd just uninstall it and I'm sure it'd be no problem then.

Here's Photoshop tutorial #6 by Phrozen Crew's DaVinci, legendary graphics artist in the scene notable for his own easily identifiable, but unique style, and attention to detail. Often copied, often having his work hacked to pieces by others' claiming it to be their own work. This is DaVinci's original tutorial, only slightly formatted to work within GeekDrop.

Enjoy!

Twilight Eclipse

So, for fun, just like last year just before Twilight: New Moon came out, I like to get in the spirit a lil bit and make myself into one type of the monsters from the movies. Last year I made myself into a vampire, but I've since become more of a Werewolf guy, since at least in the Twilight series ... they're way cooler (imo). Plus, like I've said before, I relate alot more to Jacob, in a non-ghey sense, of course, cuz trust me ... all man hea .... Wink

How To Create An Animated Gif In Adobe Photoshop

Looking to learn how to make an Animated Gif in Adobe Photoshop? There are of course many programs specifically designed to make animated gifs (anigifs), and usually they are faster and easier, but there are also many other reasons to do it in Photoshop, so in this case, we'll explain how to do it in Photoshop.

  • First off, any image that you want in the animated gif will need to be on it's own layer, within the same .psd.

WHAT is the name of that font??

So you see a font that you want to use in something, be it in an image in photoshop, or you want to use it in Word, whatever ... but have NO idea what the name of it is, so that you can download and install it on your system?

I found a great site that has an 'automatic' font identification system, that you link to or upload a sample image with the font in it, and an expert there will try and identify the font name for you. Even if it's a custom font that may have started out from another font, they do a great job identifying it.
