Unfortunately once Facebook decides to make a layout change, we're all stuck with it since it resides on their servers. Once in a while you can find some GreaseMonkey scripts at Userscripts.org that'll sort of change the layout around a bit, you could take a look around there, but for the most part, we're stuck with it. They're rolling out the new layout in batches right now, so some people haven't gotten it yet, but they will soon enough.

I haven't heard of not being able to delete friends before. What exactly happens when you try to?

You can't change it back to the old layout, I wish we could too. But you can still delete friends, just go the friends page who you want to delete and scroll down and you will see this on the left hand side, just click on Remove from Friends.

What the hell happened to facebook? I've been gone a few days and I came back to a whole new look. dang I was just starting to get the hang of facebook and they do this to me.
