So just wondering who is watching the trial of Pirate Bay (torrent site) in Sweden? The case is very intresting and well half way over. I have been glued to the trial - well as guled as one can be on the internet.....
The picture on the home page of Pirate Bay makes me laugh...
I think this case could be landmark and well the funny attitude of Pirate Bay is too funny. If you have never read one of their legal reply emails then you really need to - you can see them HERE.
Well they knew they were not doing so well so they changed the charges around to make them better stick:
so they might actually be convicted of some charges... eh, the music/movie world makes plenty of money. i know, i know...with that kinda logic all sorts of things can be justified. but, i just think there are much bigger fish to fry in the world...i hope the pirate boys win.
I think they will still win. If anything maybe a slap on the wrist but I think they will win.
hehehe
i just read a few more of their emails to the big wigs. those emails alone should get them off the hook for their entertainment value.
So the trial is over..............
STOCKHOLM -- The Pirate Bay trial wrapped up here Tuesday amid a media circus as attorneys for the four accused founders of the world's most notorious BitTorrent tracker proclaimed their clients' innocence to charges of facilitating copyright infringement.
One of the attorneys declared the 2-week trial a mockery.................
...................The panel of four judges is expected to issue a verdict April 17. The defendants face up to two years in prison each and $180,000 in fines plus millions in damages.
So in the end I think The Pirate Bay will win but I think they will get a little slap on the wrist of some money (not much). I also don't see pirate bay as closing shop any time soon. Yes they may move locations but with torrent sites that is common. Either way this case will make history of some type.
Whos side am I on well I fly the pirate flag............
~The only stupid question is the one that remains unasked~
~Niebr~
Well I think they will get some sorta legal fine but that is it. I hope no more. I know that they were trying to change the charges mid way to make them stick which is total BS
I love the legal letters. Here are some good ones
found HERE:
Please sue me in Japan instead. I've always wanted to visit Tokyo. Also, I'm running out of toilet paper, so please send lots of legal documents to our ISP - preferably printed on soft paper. __________________________________________________ and this ONE: Please don't sue us right now, our lawyer is passed out in an alley fromtoo much moonshine, so please atleast wait until he's found and doesn't have a huge hangover... _________________________________________________ THIS one had me in tears laughing: You're a hoot, that's what you areI want to hug you in a non-sexual way and tell you that you make my heart burst of joy and cuddle up like a cute little cookie monster and ask for more milk. ... and btw, to be in a business you have very little knowledge on what you're doing. I would actually see you as a retard, but it's hard when you're so cuddly and manly! I wish I was just 20 years older and a girl... oh my.. Hugs n kisses,
In a land of wonderous things...
the Pirate Bay guys are hysterical. didn't a ton of charges get dropped like on the first day of the trial or something? i doubt they'll get in any trouble at all.
