Re: Does My Nook Need a MicroSD Card? And How Do I Get WIFI?
hi

Welcome to Geekdrop!
You don't need to have a micro sd card in order to use your Nook, your Nook has both internal storage built right into it, and external storage, which would be a micro sd card. If you don't install the sd card then you can still use the internal storage for holding your books, although it is much smaller than having a big sd card too, which may be just fine for you if you don't need too many books at once on it.

For getting WIFI, your Nook has WIFI built right into it also, but you'll need to either be in an area where someone is offering free WIFI service (it's easy to tell because it isn't protected with a password, you can just log on to it for free), OR you'll need a wireless router on your home network, like this one for example. Then you can use it in your own home on your wireless (wifi) network using your regular internet service.

As an extra tip, if or when you setup a wireless router in your home, be sure to password protect it with it's built in software. Then all you'll have to do is type in that password into your Nook when adding your information to your wifi section in the Nook settings.

If you're still confused and need more help, don't hesitate to ask us some more, we're here to "hand hold" so to speak. Smile

Re: Web

Hi Eli

Yes you can. The Nook has a built-in web browser and as long as you're connected to the internet via wifi you'll be able to go to Google.com or any other search engine, just as you could on a regular computer. Which version of the Nook do you have? Is it the eInk version, or the Color version?

Shhh.. dont tell anyone, but we also have a private forum area with the really good stuff, see?
