How to Instantly Password Protect Your Computer

1 reply [Last post]

Most people have a password-enabled screensaver (at least at work) set to activate after a certain amount of time. Sometimes, however, when you step away from your computer, if you have sensitive information on your screen, you may need to hide and password protect your computer immediately.

This quick fix will do that for Windows 7, XP and Vista.

Just hit the windows key + L and you're all set.

Keyboard shortcut to instantly password protect your computer

This will immediately display the Windows logon screen requiring a password. Any programs that are running will remain open and you'll be able to get up and running immediately after you enter the password.

Re: How to Instantly Password Protect Your Computer

I use this at work all the time when I have to step out of my office for a few and don't feel like shutting down my computer.
