The Notebook, and this thread just came up on my Facebook page, so after reading through this thread again I thought I'd update.
CritterKeeper now lives and dies for sappy, romantic, tissue tear jerkers. Mission accomplished ... shell cracked. I am still undefeated. *wipes hands together* *blows on fingernails* *buffs said fingernails on his lapel (tank top actually)*
You're not alone! I haven't seen The Notebook either and I don't have any plans to. I'll consider reading the book but that's as far as I'll go.
I love chick flicks, and luckily my husband doesn't mind watching them. We didn't agree on the Notebook though. I didn't like it, he did. I read the book first and hated it. I just don't like Nicolas Sparks. Sappy=crappy.
I watch Hope Floats on a regular basis. Steel Magnolias, and Fried Green Tomatoes (good book too) are also standards.
Oh well books never compair to movies - books will always win. I mean how can you cram that much into 2 -3 hours? I totaly understand that.
Yeah, it's rare for a book to be as good as the movie. In this case, I guess the movie was better because it has Ryan Gosling and I LOVE him. They had to add a lot to the movie. The book was very very short. A quick read. Every one I know liked the movie and the book. I'm the odd one out. Maybe I read it at a bad time in my life for love, who knows.
I got "The Notebook" special edition on blu-ray for Valentine's Day. I love it. It's my second most favorite movie. (My first is Pulp Fiction). Another chick flick that can bring a tear to my eye is "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. I've hungered for your touch....
"Ghost" with Patrick Sweyze and Demi Moore.
Hey! I've seen THAT one. WOOT!

Single & Not Looking
Well there was this one time, back in '96 .... j/k!
For the official record ... I have never worn panties. Unless ya wanna count on my head, at bachelorette parties. Heels? Now that's a different story ...
