I mourn the loss of our soldiers as well, but the only reason they're not having as big as an impact in our lives is 1. Half of them never did anything "personal" for us (yes unfortunately we're all just a bit selfish), 2. We don't know any of them, and 3. Celebrity deaths are so much more interesting to cover than the death of your regular joe-smoe off the block (Once again, unfortunately this is true in America).
Wow well you enjoy your freedom honey
Debating things are fine on GeekDrop however some subjects are marked that they are not for debate. If you read the comments in the ADD room we encouranged you to start a topic and I would be more then happy to move all of those comments in there.

Wow-- that's a heavy load of ...ignorance. i suddenly feel nauseous.
there's too much here to respond to right now (it's quittin time at work) but it's just all...sick and wrong to say the LEAST. i'm shaking my head.
Sorry mod's, you know i don't have a filter on my mouth. i can't hold back.
~karma: i'm countin on it~
What the media and people fail to realize is that he did more than just entertain. He was a humanitarion. He supported and donated to lots of charities. He also did it all without trying to have paparazzi filming him. I also think that people should just let his spirit rest. He's dead and has no way of defending himself now.
I believe the media and America has had its share of grief over soldiers. So we dedicate a few weeks to talking about someone who passed and did so much for people all over the WORLD. This is an international hot topic. So I guess it goes a little further than people think.

"So that others may live..."
OK so I saw this thread and had to find my password to comment. Wacko Jacko was nothing more than another self centered self absorbed loser who molested kids. When he wasn't playing music that was only fit for people with Forrest Gumps IQ he was out doing charity work? Let me tell you how the real world works he got paid to do all of those good works with tax breaks not because he was a shining example of humanity. As a vet I am completly offended by the troll who would even put this sick tool in the same sentence as a serviceman/woman. The men and women following the orders given to them by our elected officals are worth more than any drug addled pedophile who bought his kids and couldn't even donate his own seed because it was inside some kid he had a sleepover with. So ban me mute me show me how censorship works.
PS your welcome for the free speech you enjoy because vets walked the line to insure it

I think if you crawled out of bed this morning, if you got to breath the fresh air, you got to walk down the street freely....I could go on and on then you should be grateful and you should mourn the soldiers who died, yes many died to give you that freedom. You may not know them by name you may not have a "face" to mourn but they died for you and they died for me.
I think most know atleast one person who was touched by the war, they either served and if they were lucky came home in one piece or they were injured or sadly to say they gave their lives. I fully support our troups and I mourn for those who gave their lives so that I can enjoy my freedom.
I'm sorry but... LAWL much?
First off, I remember being chased out of a thread because of my inability to "stick to the topic" um... A.D.D much?
But since a staff member has given leeway to go on and rant onto a different topic. Here's my two cents.
Just a quick fyi people:
American Soldiers are not in Iraq fighting or dieing for our freedom. Actually it is far, very far from it. You wanna protect our freedom? Why not try sending our troops after a good deal of people currently at the head of our state, not overseas.
Quite honestly, we were NEVER sent abroad for the protection of our freedom. We went there for one reason and as I quote the former president of the United States:
"To stop the war on terrorism"
Last time I checked, that's not exactly protecting our freedom, that's just protecting us. Us from everyone else getting bigger than us and totally kicking our butts.
And right now we're in the middle east fighting for the freedom of the Iraq people.
So if you're going to go off topic, at least have your information straight.
I mourn the loss of our soldiers as well, but the only reason they're not having as big as an impact in our lives is 1. So that's why we're not dedicating threads to each particular soldier or to the soldiers to that are currently in a "war".
Doesn't it kind of make you question yourself? It takes a thread like this for you to finally say anything about U.S soldiers who have been fighting for about eight years now when you could have easily dedicated a post to them any other day of the week?
Go... you.
