So Gizmodo did a story that when I clicked on it the picture made me laugh - loved it
Basically they did a story on breaking up with someone online and the steps you take. Here are the main bullet points and a brief explanation of them:
Change Your Relationship Status - ok this is obvious. Basically you change your facebook/myspace... from taken to single or "its complicated"
Yank Some Pictures - nothing like still showing a album of you and the partner all snuggled up.
To Unfriend or Not to Unfriend - do you stay friends of dump them?
Limit Their Access - on facebook you can limit what they see so do you do it?
Change Your Passwords - just in case they had access to them or you shared them.
Save Things You Want - if they have any pictures on thier facebook/myspace save them while you can or they may long gone.
Consider Blocking Them - do you walk away and block them cutting all ties?
So I'm thinking there are more things that you should do. I mean friends kinda come into play. Sometimes your friends with someone though the ex - do you dump them or do you stay friends. I know it sounds childish but nothing like a spy on your page to cause more drama. What about other sites like forum sites? I mean the person could really stock you on them so do you change your name on those sites?
So what other steps do you thing that online breakups cause or could cause? Any steps we are missing that should be here?
I agree. Its like taking out the trash no one likes to do it but it has to be done. I think the heads up depends on how it ended. Besides delete them before they snag your pictures. I say no heads up - poof your gone. Out of site out of mind.
The first thing I'll do too would delete her, I don't want her to be the first one deleting me. .

hahaha, I have noticed alot of people thinking that way, including some ex's. They seem to get some sort of satisfaction out of being the first one to delete / block / ban the other person. It does crack me up sometimes, . They also seem to derive the same pleasure out of being the one who blocked (etc.) the other one the "longest". Personally, it makes no difference to me whether I am the deleter or deletee, blocker / blockee. I also love watching the same thing happening with other couples. It kind of follows the same principle of "braggin about whether the person broke up with you, or you broke up with them", rofl.
Single & Not Looking
I think if you seriously want to move on you can't have them on your page so deleting them is probably the best thing to do with a heads up of course, its pretty final when you do that.
