Today I downloaded an update for uTorrent only to discover they want to charge fees. I found this unacceptable and went to their forum to voice my complaint. After the moderator simply banned me rather than replying I have decided to boycott them. You can read my conversation at I find it disguisting Angry that they would care more about money than keeping a clean software. What is your take on the issue?

Re: uTorrent now wants fees. It is a sad day for all of us.

I just updated uTorrent to the latest stable build 3.1.2. At no point during the upgrade was I asked for a fee. In fact nothing popped up at all. uTorrent opened up after the update and nothing else. So I then went to their page and downloaded the same stable build with no request for money. There is a uTorrent Plus that offers extra features that you can buy for $24.95 per year but no one is making you buy it. In fact I had to look for it. The default download option I was given was the free version. Sounds like a lot of fuss over nothing. Of course no one is making you use uTorrent. There are lots of other clients available. Deluge is really good.

If you try to get the tracker from piratebay, the "GET THIS TORRENT" changed to "Download" button. Upon clicking the download button,a popup asking for $4.99 to use the tracker. It also installed the f'ing stupid toolbar, even after i specifically uncheck/decline during installation. Laughing.
