Re: Will YOU be sending money to Haiti?

On a regular basis NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO but I did cough up a few bucks when it first happened and my office did send over some supplies that we carry that they needed - I sent a pallet of them.

I think I've done my part but no more funds and no adopting any Haitian babies for me. I would like to see where the money is going since I have a feeling its lining some pockets with little actually going to the poor.

Note: I voted yes because I did give however I don't plan on giving any more at this time.

Re: Will YOU be sending money to Haiti?

Not I.

Not that I have anything against Haiti, but the U.S. is already in a recession, the economy is pi$$-poor, people are unemployed left and right, can't get work, animals are being put to sleep in shelters by the truckload daily due to lack of funds to keep them alive, we have tons of homeless people here, farmers are losing their farms, the government already takes a ton of taxes, health care is out of control and too expensive, people die because they can't afford to go to the hospital when they're sick, and if they do still go, they end up with debts that drain away their entire life savings, and the list goes on as long as my arm.

We already owe trillions of dollars to a communist country, China, and need to keep going to them with our tails between our legs for more to keep us afloat. We outsource much of our labor to countries like India and Mexico, screwing our own citizens out of work, because it's cheaper to outsource, etc. Now our Gov't wants us to donate our money to some other country?

If I had the excess cash to donate, I'd pick a disease, any disease, or some cancer and donate it to research for that, or to any of the above listed issues, in my own country. It don't make sense to me to go sending our money out to other countries when we desperately need it here in our own already.

I also think that instead of our celebrities jumping to do some sort of fundraiser for another country like that, they could be doing them ALL the time here in their own country, trying to help out any of the above as well.

The only reason I can think of, would be to attempt to stop them (and other countries) from hating us .. but as we've already seen, no matter what we do, they still end up hating us anyway.

VERY VERY True. I will say that it absolutly kills me when I hear about folks rushing over there to adopt the kids to bring them to the states when we have so many children here in the US looking for homes and wanting families. However its the "Cool" thing to do just like Madonna and Angelina Jolie who adopts children around the world then tattoos their lat. and long. on her.

Angelina Jolie's tattoo for her children

These numbers are the geographical coordinates (longitudes and latitudes) from the locations where her children first entered her life.

  1. N11° 33' 00" E104° 51' 00": the place in Cambodia where Angelina Jolie's eldest son Maddox was born.

  2. N09° 02' 00" E038° 45' 00": the place in Ethiopia were her daughter Zahara was born.

  3. S22° 40' 26" E014° 31' 40": the place in Namibia (Swakopmund) where Angelina gave birth to her biological daughter with Brad Pitt, Shiloh (Hebrew for "the peaceful one"), was born.

  4. N10° 46' 00" E106° 41' 40": the place in Vietnam where Angelina's son Pax Thien was born.

The coordinates tattoo covers the place where the dragon tattoo and name of her ex husband Billy Bob used to be before they got lasered off. You can still see the dragon a bit.

I agree we need to take care of our own FIRST. I did give some to Haiti via the red cross when it happened. I was at the grocery store and at the register they were taking red cross donations so I did. Supplies wise since I live in Palm Beach county where Missionary Flights operates it was easy to supply them with some needed items.

Re: Will YOU be sending money to Haiti?

Nope, I will not be either - read on:

A must read - a retired San Francisco fire chief. The other side. WOW!

this just in from a friend who went with a rescue team to Haiti.

To All,

I just returned from Haitiwith Hebler. We flew in at 3 AM Sunday to the scene of such incredible destruction on one side, and enormous ineptitude and criminal neglect on the other.

Port o Prince is in ruins. The rest of the country is fairly intact. Our team was a rescue team and we carried special equipment that locates people buried under the rubble. There are easily 200,000 dead; the city smells like a charnel house. The bloody UN was there for 5 years doing apparently nothing but wasting US Taxpayers money. The ones I ran into were either incompetent or outright anti-American. Most are French or French speakers, worthless every dang one of them. While 1800 rescuers were ready, willing and able to leave the airport and go do their jobs, the UN and USAID (another organization full of little Obamaites and Communists that openly speak against America). These two organizations exemplified their parochialism by:

USAID, when in control of all inbound flights, had food and water flights stacked up all the way to Miami, yet allowed Geraldo Rivera, Anderson Cooper and a host of other left wing news puppies to land.

Pulled all the security off the rescue teams so that Bill Clinton and his wife could have the grand tour, whilst we sat unable to get to people trapped in the rubble.

Stacked enough food and water for the relief over at the side of the airfield then put a guard on it while we dehydrated and wouldn’t release a drop of it to the resuers.

No shower facilities to decontaminate after digging or moving corpses all day, except for the FEMA teams who brought their own shower and decon equipment, as well as air conditioned tents.

No latrine facilities, less digging a hole. If you set up a ishter, everyone was trying to use it.

I watched a 25 year old Obamaite with the USAID shrieking hysterically, berate a full bird colonel in the Air Force because he countermanded her orders whilst trying to unscrew the air pattern. "You don’t know what your president wants! The military isn’t in charge here! We are!"

If any of you are thinking of giving money to the Haitian relief, or to the UN, don’t waste your money. It will only go to further the goals of the French and the Liberal left.

If we are a fair and even society, why is it that only white couples are adopting Haitian orphans? Where the hell is that vocal minority that is always screaming about the injustice of American society?

Bad place, bad situation, but a perfect look at the new world order in action. New Orleans magnified a thousand times. Haitidoesn’t need democracy. What Haitineeds is Papa Doc. That’s not just my opinion, that is what virtually every Haitian we talked with said. The French run the UN and treat us the same as when we were a colony. At least Papa Doc ran the country.

Oh, and as a last slap in the face, the last four of us had to take US AIRWAYs home from Phoenix. They slapped me with a 590 dollar baggage charge for the four of us. The girl at the counter was almost in tears because she couldn’t give us a discount or she would lose her job. Pass that on to the flying public.

Nick
