I'm getting an Error downloading update where the progress bar usually is while my Nook is trying to get the latest software update. Does anyone know how to fix this? I want my update!
TIA
my wife's Nook this morning reset itself to version 1.3 and it had 1.4 on it. just when she turned it on it said reverting to 1.3. has anyone had this problem or heard of this happening before? i have had it for over a month now and it has been working flawlessly until this morning.
any help would be appreciated
If you're the lucky owner of a Barnes & Noble Nook, you can get 12 new (FREE) eBooks every week on their website. you might be thinking right now that these will just be your standard crappy books to help them promote thier product, but no no no friends ... these are full versions of timeless, beloved classics!
Clicky Here for the link, and be sure to come by GeekDrop often for other sweet notifications like this!
When I plug my Nook into the USB port, or the wall charger the screen says "If you want to use your Nook and continue charging, please choose Eject or Unmount from the menu for the Nook drive."
When I choose Eject on my computer using the "Safely Remove hardware" icon in my tray, the screen on my Nook stays the same, even if I press the power button on it, and I can't use it unless I unplug it from the power supply, which may cause me to lose my books and/or settings. What am I doing wrong?
I came upon calibre when I was searching for a program to convert an ebook to a format that was compatible with my ebook reader. This is one jammed packed program. Aside from converting any ebooks you might find on the internet to a format compatible with your ebook reader, it manages your ebook collection, it will send the ebooks right to your ebook reader, it also can download for you and store current daily newspapers and schedule their download for you daily.
So are you an anti iPad person? Well here are 4 videos of folks killing an iPad. My favorite is the blender...awesome! Then you have the baseball bat, the iPad stress test and golf club vs the iPad (inspired by Tiger, I dunno).
With all of the e-readers coming out and users wanting more e-books some are turning to piracy. Here is the ethical question if you own the book in hard back is it illegal to download a pirated version of it in e-book form? I mean lets think about this what really is pirating? True pirating is downloading something you didn't pay for. So you didn't pay for the ebook did you pirate? Or did you meet your legal obligation by paying the publisher and the author when you purchased their work? Should it matter that you purchased it in a different format? Wel
Well there is an app for everything or so it seems and now a clothing line that has gadget-friendly pockets to fit all those gadgets like iPhones, iPods and now fits the iPad!
Well it was only a matter of time before the iPad was jailbroken and its been a hot race to do it. Not to bad since it was done in less then 24 hours of release. Here is a video of it being jailbroken:
